Learn from working professionals in film, television & new media during the INDUSTRY PRO WEEKEND SEMINARS course series.  During these 3-day seminars students learn about the art and craft of television and feature film from veteran industry professionals.

Directing and Producing Your Own Film with Director/Producer, Fanny Grande

Filmmakers Fanny and Nelson Grande will be teaching on the subjects of crowdfunding, grassroots marketing, use of social media, self-distribution, and the life of an independent filmmaker. These exceptional artist-entrepreneurs have raised millions of dollars for over 100 media projects, most via crowdfunding. Additionally, our guest instructors will be speaking on the recent study: Latinos in Film: Erasure on Screen & Behind the Camera Across 1,200 Popular Movies.

Directing and Producing Your Own Films with Director/Producer, Salvador Carrasco

During this weekend seminar, students will learn about the art and craft of film directing and producing through a screening of The Other Conquest, lectures and conversations. Taught by writer-director, Salvador Carrasco, students will watch and discuss Carrasco’s epic period piece in addition to case studying one of his short films, giving students insight into each stage of the filmmaking process from inception to completion.
