Mar Vista Entertainment has created two internships dedicated for top ASU students for the summer, fall, and spring semesters. One in development & production and the other in post production. 

MarVista Entertainment is one of the leading independent producers and distributors of programming in the worldwide television marketplace. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, MarVista is a global producer and distributor of a broad range of programming genres. Founded in 2003, MarVista quickly expanded into original feature film and television production while building a library showcasing more than 2,500 hours of content.

Position Overview: MarVista is looking for an intern within its Development Department. This internship is unpaid. This intern will have the opportunity to work as part of the Creative Affairs team and will work daily with assistants and creative executives. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the entertainment field by learning the ins and outs of a film and television production company.

For Development and Production


  • Gains understanding of the daily lives and responsibilities of the Production & Development assistants.
  • Learns how to write script coverage.
  • Gains knowledge about cultivating and maintaining relationships with writers, directors, and agents/managers.
  • Receives exposure to the development process, from pitch to start of production, contributing with administrative and creative tasks.
  • Learns the creative producer’s role during a shoot and post-production.

  • Hears from speakers in other departments, including marketing, distribution, and operations.

For Post-Production


  • Create, develop and maintain the Post Production calendar/schedule.
  • Attend various post-production processes (i.e Color Correction, Sound Mix, Spotting Sessions, etc.)
  • Support the marketing department by creating promotional material for social media and press.
  • Maintain and develop the archive process for all digital video and audio assets
  • Support digital distribution by inputting information onto various VOD platforms
  • Facilitate internal QC of all deliveries

Internships available for Fall, Spring, and Summer


STUDENTS WORK REMOTELY FROM TEMPE, read & analyze scripts, write & submit their script coverage promptly via email, and communicate weekly with members of the development teams via video conference to discuss coverage and receive feedback.

In addition to video conferencing with members of the team each week, students will also connect with top level executives 1-2 times per semester providing excellent network building opportunities.

This is an unpaid, educational internship. Interested students should apply below. A sample of your own script coverage is required and should also be submitted below as well.

The branded creative team oversees all elements of brand partnerships and branded content. DreamWorks Animation seeks an Intern for the Training Department in Glendale, CA. In this role, the intern will learn the training process for various production departments. (Animation, Effects, Surfacing, Matte Painting, etc). Interns will gain operational knowledge of training lab equipment and an understanding of the production training workflow.

Job responsibilities include preparing training labs for classes, setting up rosters, directing students and helping with troubleshooting if necessary. The intern will collect rosters and enter data into Excel database. He or she will record various classes with screen capture software and camera equipment. They will occasionally edit recorded classes in Adobe Premiere. The intern will also need to take on administrative tasks and design posters to promote training classes as needed. 

In addition, the intern will be encouraged to attend training classes to learn about the animation pipeline as well as the software used to create our movies. He/she will have the opportunity to meet with artists from different departments and to further develop skills in areas of interest. The intern will also be able to participate in ongoing studio arts classes, lunchtime talks, special series workshops, employee galleries and screenings.

  • Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at a College/University (or equivalent), or be a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date)
