We are looking for someone who is administrative savvy and preferably fluent in Italian or Spanish & English. This position has the potential to grow into higher positions for the right person.

Companies are both focused on social impact content and are currently in production with a slate of projects. We are looking for an assistant who is eager to learn, outstanding under pressure, and incredibly thorough. Both companies have been growing fast and the candidate must be willing to wear multiple hats. CEO is very busy and has an extremely demanding schedule, which requires the ideal candidate to be flexible when needed.

The production companies both focus on creating impact in the world; this is a demanding position with incredible opportunity for someone who wants to enter the film industry, as well as learn the production process from beginning to end.

Responsibilities include:

  • Heavy administrative work
  • Coordinating research & content for weekly social media posts

Mar Vista Entertainment has created two internships dedicated for top ASU students for the summer, fall, and spring semesters. One in development & production and the other in post production. 

MarVista Entertainment is one of the leading independent producers and distributors of programming in the worldwide television marketplace. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, MarVista is a global producer and distributor of a broad range of programming genres. Founded in 2003, MarVista quickly expanded into original feature film and television production while building a library showcasing more than 2,500 hours of content.

Position Overview: MarVista is looking for an intern within its Development Department. This internship is unpaid. This intern will have the opportunity to work as part of the Creative Affairs team and will work daily with assistants and creative executives. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the entertainment field by learning the ins and outs of a film and television production company.

For Development and Production

Responsibilities:

  • Gains understanding of the daily lives and responsibilities of the Production & Development assistants.
  • Learns how to write script coverage.
  • Gains knowledge about cultivating and maintaining relationships with writers, directors, and agents/managers.
  • Receives exposure to the development process, from pitch to start of production, contributing with administrative and creative tasks.
  • Learns the creative producer’s role during a shoot and post-production.
  • Sits in on internal and external meetings.
  • Hears from speakers in other departments, including marketing, distribution, and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop and maintain the Post Production calendar/schedule.
  • Attend various post-production processes (i.e Color Correction, Sound Mix, Spotting Sessions, etc.)
  • Support the marketing department by creating promotional material for social media and press.
  • Maintain and develop the archive process for all digital video and audio assets
  • Support digital distribution by inputting information onto various VOD platforms
  • Facilitate internal QC of all deliveries

*FOR CREDIT REMOTE INTERNSHIP* Script Readers and More!

Internships available for Fall, Spring, and Summer. Applications accepted on a rolling basis. 

Overview:

STUDENTS WORK REMOTELY FROM TEMPE, read & analyze scripts, write & submit their script coverage promptly via email, and communicate weekly with members of the development teams via video conference to discuss coverage and receive feedback.

In addition to video conferencing with members of the team each week, students will also connect with top level executives 1-2 times per semester providing excellent network building opportunities.

These are typically unpaid, educational internships. Interested students should apply below. A sample of your own script coverage is required if you are applying for script reading internships. Apply with your SAMPLE, COVER LETTER, and RESUME. 

Responsibilities:

  • Read and analyze scripts (Feature and Television)
  • Submit coverage promptly
  • Discuss the script with the development team. 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at a College/University (or equivalent).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to commit to covering two scripts per week. 
  • Able to meet strict deadlines. 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strongest candidates will have an interest in a career in development or producing. 
  • Background in screenwriting and understanding of structure, character, dialogue, and the fundamentals of genre. 
  • Ability and willingness to learn new concepts.
  • Proactive problem solver with excellent time management, organization, judgment and prioritization skills.
